Vehicle Suitability & Payload Requirements

Before purchasing a RoamX TrailPod, it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that their vehicle is suitable for carrying the camper.

The RoamX TrailPod has a dry weight of approximately 680 kg in standard specification. The camper's operating weight will increase once water, gas, personal belongings, food, equipment and optional accessories are added.

Before purchase, buyers should confirm with their vehicle manufacturer or a suitably qualified vehicle professional that their ute:

  • Has sufficient legal payload capacity for the TrailPod and its contents.

  • Remains within its GVM and front/rear axle weight limits when fully loaded.

  • Has suitable manufacturer-approved and adequately rated tie-down/mounting points.

  • Has a tray/deck and mounting arrangement capable of safely supporting the camper.

  • Remains compliant with all applicable New Zealand vehicle and road-use requirements when the camper is fitted.

  • May require a certified GVM upgrade, depending on the vehicle's available payload and the final loaded weight of the vehicle and camper combination.

Important: The advertised dry weight does not represent the camper's fully loaded travelling weight. Buyers should allow additional capacity for water, gas, batteries, personal belongings, passengers and other equipment.

RoamX recommends that buyers have their vehicle's payload, axle loads, GVM and mounting/tie-down arrangement professionally assessed before purchase.

**It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm that their particular vehicle is suitable for carrying the RoamX TrailPod and that the completed vehicle/camper combination remains within all applicable weight and safety limits. Where required, a suitably certified GVM upgrade must be completed before the vehicle is operated at the increased GVM.
